CEval Hosts Meta-Evaluation Training with Australian Evaluation Society

On September 24, 2024, CEval had the pleasure of conducting an engaging online seminar for the Australian Evaluation Society (AES). Led by Dr. Stefan Silvestrini, CEO of CEval GmbH, the session introduced participants to the fundamentals of meta-evaluations. With around 30 AES members in attendance, the event was a great opportunity to explore how evaluations themselves are evaluated and to share practical insights from recent CEval projects.

During the seminar titled “Heavy Meta(l) – Why We Evaluate Evaluations: An Introduction to Meta-Evaluations,” Dr. Silvestrini outlined key quality criteria for evaluations and walked through the typical steps involved in implementing a meta-evaluation.

By presenting findings from CEval’s latest review of meta-evaluations in Development Cooperation, he provided participants with a deeper understanding of the current state of evaluation quality and shared practical tips for enhancing their own evaluation practices.

We’re grateful for the warm reception from the Australian Evaluation Society, the organization work by the New Zealand Regional Network of the AES, and all participants’ enthusiastic engagement.
