Following last year’s success, the Islamic Development Bank, IsDB, once again partnered with the International Program for Development Evaluation Training, IPDET, in 2024 to offer another round of impactful training on the Fundamentals of Evaluation, conducted by the IPDET Head of the program, Dr Stefanie Krapp and Prof. Dr. Reinhard Stockmann from the Center for Evaluation, CEval, from October 3 to 7.
This year, 26 participants from IsDB’s evaluation and operations teams, including six women, attended the four-day in-person workshop in Jeddah. The training provided a comprehensive understanding of evaluation, covering five modules on key concepts, methods, processes, standards, and tools for planning, implementing, and using evaluations. By the end, they were equipped to enhance evidence-based decision-making at both programmatic and strategic levels within the Bank.
The training seems to meet the expectations: 96% of the participants stated in a final survey that they were considerably satisfied or strongly satisfied with the course and 92% of the participants would recommend the course to their colleagues. This result speaks not only for the high quality of the course, but also for the great interest of the participants in using evaluation even more effectively than before for decision-making.
