CEval\u2019s work spans a wide range of topics and projects in Germany and around the world. At the same time, as a Saarland-based institute, we feel a strong connection to the region. That\u2019s why we\u2019re especially pleased that five of our projects are currently based in Saarland and the surrounding area. They address a wide variety of topics\u2014from leadership and collaboration to culture, health, digitalization, and environmental protection. These projects highlight just how diverse the fields of application for evaluation are and the concrete contributions it can make to organizations, public policy, and society as a whole.<\/p>

Collaboration and Leadership at Caritas<\/h5>

CEval recently conducted an employee survey<\/a> for the Caritasverband Saar-Hochwald e. V. as part of the project \u201cr\u00fcckenwind\u00b3: (Self-)leadership with FLOW \u2013 freedom for solutions, organisation and change.\u201d A partially standardized online survey and supplementary exploratory interviews now provide a comprehensive assessment of the leadership and organizational culture. The survey was designed in such a way that it can be repeated at a later date, allowing changes over the course of the project to be systematically tracked. The results of the baseline survey will also be incorporated into the development of the r\u00fcckenwind\u00b3 project\u2019s activities.<\/p>

Digital Development in the Kusel District<\/strong><\/h5>

With the \u201cLAND L(i)EBEN\u201d project, the Kusel District is using digital solutions tailored to local needs to drive the region\u2019s sustainable development. Among other things, the project focuses on mobility, social participation, and the responsible use of the digital space. CEval is advising the project team on the development of an appropriate evaluation framework and suitable data collection tools. Any additional support provided by CEval will be defined as the project progresses, in response to emerging needs and priorities.<\/p>

Potential and Needs of the Saarland Music Industry<\/strong><\/h5>

Which stakeholders and structures shape Saarland\u2019s music industry? Where does its economic potential lie, and what infrastructure is needed to unlock it? Our study <\/a>examines these questions by supplementing the limited existing data with insights from individual interviews, focus groups, and an online survey distributed widely among professionals across the music industry. The findings will inform a strategy paper and a practical guide, helping to support Saarland\u2019s sustainable development as a music hub. The report was produced in close collaboration with the commissioning organization, PopRat Saarland e. V.<\/p>

Health Promotion in Childhood<\/strong><\/h5>

The project \u201cStrong Through Play\u2014Getting Fit for School with Exercise and Healthy Eating<\/a>,\u201d organized by the Saarland Cancer Society (Saarl\u00e4ndische Krebsgesellschaft e. V.) and Techniker Krankenkasse, aims to instill health-promoting habits in children\u2019s daily lives at an early age. In addition to preschoolers, the project also involves educators, parents, and other caregivers. CEval is responsible for the scientific monitoring and evaluation of the project. During the pilot phase, the evaluation helps optimize the project\u2019s design and implementation. In the subsequent rollout phase, the project\u2019s goal achievement and effectiveness will be examined. The participatory and theory-based evaluation approach combines qualitative and quantitative methods and is flexibly adapted to the project\u2019s development.<\/p>

Video Surveillance to Combat Illegal Dumping<\/strong><\/h5>

Illegal dumping at container sites incurs significant costs and harms municipalities and the environment. Since January 2026, the Saarland has allowed temporary video surveillance at particularly affected locations under certain conditions. CEval provides external evaluation support for the implementation of this measure. This involves systematically examining the experiences gained from the measure and the extent to which it contributes to achieving the intended goals. The findings provide a basis for future assessments and refinements of the measure.<\/p>

These five projects illustrate the thematic and methodological breadth of our work in the region. We combine the experience gained from national and international projects with a strong local presence and close, direct collaboration. Depending on the questions at hand, we conduct independent studies and evaluations or help organizations establish their own monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes. Together with our clients, we tailor research questions, methods, and participatory formats to each specific context. Our work is consistently guided by a participatory and needs-based approach, established professional and scientific evaluation standards, and careful consideration of ethical principles.
